The Gourmand Awards have announced that Essi Avellan’s Champagne is the national winner for Finland in its category ‘French Wine book’. The book will now compete in its category against winners from other countries for the Best in the World. The results will be announced on May 26, 2018 at the annual Gourmand Awards Ceremony in Yantai, The Capital of Wine in China.

The Gourmand Awards are often compared by journalists to the “Oscars”. The Best in the World Awards will be announced during 2 awards ceremonies, one for food culture, the other for drinks culture. The Gourmand World Cookbook Awards were founded in 1995 by Edouard Cointreau. Every year, they honour the best food and wine books, printed or digital, as well as food television. Books from 205 countries participate in these prestigious awards, the only international competition of the sector. It is free, and open to all languages. Read more at http://www.cookbookfair.com.
