Despite long family history of vinegrowing in the Côte de Blancs since the 18th century, own champagne production was commenced in 1929 using the André Champion brand. After André’s premature death, Roland had to take over at the tender age of 16 and later on in 1951 changed the estate’s name to Roland Champion. Today his children are at the helm with François as the winemaker.
