There are several Dumangins in the village, sharing ancestors. Jacky, Jean and Guy Dumangin are brothers, but as Jacky’s name sounded too feminine in the export markets, he called his Champagne company J Dumangin. His company is the only Dumangin that exports; in fact today the share of exports is 90–95%. Gilles Dumangin took over from his father in 2001 after a 20-year software career in the UK.
