New key dates for 2020 Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships!

Welcome to the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships

The Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships (CSWWC) is the only international sparkling wine competition judged by sparkling wine specialists (Tom Stevenson, Essi Avellan MW and George Markus), for the new generation of sparkling wine consumers who enjoy sparkling wine on any occasion.

The CSWWC endorses provenance and promotes world-class sparkling wines of every region as gastronomic wines par excellence. The competition is now in its 6th year and continues to grow in numbers and stature. It is the largest and toughest sparkling wine competition in the world.

Although the CSWWC will go ahead this year, recent restrictions (quite rightly) imposed by the government make it logistically impossible for us to maintain a May/June judging schedule. Tom Stevenson has therefore made the decision to postpone the judging.

Once that decision had been made, he looked at how long other events had been postponed and came to the conclusion that some of the proposed new dates were overly optimistic. He therefore worked backwards from the Awards Dinner to ascertain the very latest date the CSWWC could be postponed to, which is as follows:

2020 KEY DATES UPDATE:

  •    11th September (Deadline for all 2020 entries)
  •    25th September (Deadline for samples to be delivered to Sensible Wine Services
  •    26th October – 6th November (Judging takes place)
  •    November (Medal Results announced)
  •    15th December (CSWWC Awards Dinner)

Save the dates,  we are looking forward to the 2020 Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships!
