Prestige Cuvée Blanc vs Rosé Wednesday 17th May 2017 at 67 Pall Mall Presented by Essi Avellan MW
Following the huge success of the previous Champagne events, The Finest Bubble are holding another unique blind tasting at 67 Pall Mall. The theme this time is a comparison of 8 pairs of Blanc and Rosé Prestige Cuvée Champagnes from the same House. We believe Rosé champagne is often overlooked and as such, we have handpicked some of our favourites for guests to enjoy and judge at what promises to be an unforgettable event!
The tasting will be hosted by Essi Avellan MW, who has just completed her new book on Champagne. Finland’s first Master of Wine, Essi is the author of several wine books and is a reputed wine judge. Guests will receive a copy of her brand-new book (details below), which Essi can personally sign for those of you who are, like us, completely obsessed with Champagne.
Essi comments: “This is a tasting to travel for! These famous prestige cuvée champagnes are majestic as such but when you add to the tasting their decadent, rarer-than-rare rosé versions, I am expecting an unforgettable evening. Spanning from 1995 to 2009, I am sure this once-in-a-lifetime blind tasting will yield many great surprises.”
We will be tasting the Champagnes blind – Blanc first, then Rosé – so that you can decide without any preconceptions which you prefer, and live voting will show us the favourites as Essi guides us through the tasting. We will also be running a competition throughout the evening to see who can correctly identify the pairs and match the Blanc de Blancs and Rosé from the same Champagne house – prizes will be given!
The venue will be 67 Pall Mall. Founded by wine lovers, for wine lovers, this unique private members’ club in the heart of historic St James’s is both luxurious and welcoming – affording members access to some of the finest and rarest wines in the world, direct from the club’s extensive cellars.
